Calling all Andy Warhol enthusiasts — the first official trailer for The Andy Warhol Diaries is here. This expansive six-part docuseries charts the life of the infamous artist through his own perspective, drawing inspiration from Warhol’s diaries that were published posthumously. From executive producer Ryan Murphy and director Andrew Rossi, The Andy Warhol Diaries will take viewers through an arc of the artist’s entire life, ranging from his childhood in Pittsburgh to his widely faceted career in film, television, Hollywood, art and more.
The two-minute trailer shares a collection of photographs, video clips and memories of Warhol’s work, intercut with anecdotes reflecting his life before and after his career took off. “He broke every rule,” a voice-over tells us, “he made you look at things in a completely different way.”

What’s more, Warhol’s story will be told in his own voice with the use of AI technology — his words will be heard aloud, with the permission of The Andy Warhol Foundation. As the trailer shows, the documentary series will offer an intimate, close-up look at Warhol’s private life behind closed doors, as well as what was going through his mind at the height of his fame. “I wasn’t very close to anyone,” we hear that reimagined voice say toward the end of the trailer. “Although I guess I wanted to be.”
The Andy Warhol Diaries will be available for streaming on March 9.
