Natsume's Book of Friends

After receiving mysterious ash from a grateful yokai, Natsume and Nyanko make clay objects with it. The next day, various strange events occur at home.

Natsume volunteers to make a new flower bed for Touko. However, he soon realizes that something is afoot when the flower bed keeps getting torn up.

Natsume encounters a group of strange scarecrows in a distant town. He explores the same area the next day and observes them coming out of a mansion.

While visiting a used book store with Kitamoto, Natsume senses a disquieting presence. Kitamoto starts finding odd pieces of paper in various books.

Natsume starts occasionally seeing a white dragon flying through the sky. When Nyanko says he wants to see it too, they set out to find it.

Natsume and Nyanko learn that Beniko has been sensing strange things at the Hakozaki estate. They start looking around and encounter Matoba.

Taki confides in Natsume that she's worried about her older brother, who is visiting home on break from university but is often out of the house.

After spotting Natsume run off behind the school gym, Nishimura finds a doll's finger on the ground. That night, Natsume pays him a sudden visit.

Natori, Natsume and Nyanko visit the old Yorishima estate. When a cloth blows over from a nearby house, they go to return it and find a familiar face.

As Natori and Matoba try to escape the room they're trapped in, the one-eyed ayakashi tells Natsume and Nyanko about the exorcist Masakiyo Miharu.
