Struggling to cope with daily life after her loss, Hongdou travels to a quirky village, where a twist of fate leads her to a new friend.

Hongdou meets her new neighbors and bonds with Xie Zhiyao, a handsome entrepreneur and fellow city transplant who's trying to revitalize the village.

Hongdou struggles to adjust to the quiet pace of Yun Miao, while Zhiyao fights to save the village's woodcarving shop and the traditions it preserves.

Zhiyao tries to convince Xie Zhiyuan, his rebellious stepbrother, to return to school in Shanghai. Hongdou explores the village's culinary traditions.

After another huge fight with his brother, Zhiyuan runs away from the village. The neighbors are worried about him, but Zhiyao is mysteriously calm.

Hongdou opens up to Zhiyao about her life in Beijing. Zhiyao gets a brilliant business idea, while his clever Granny plays matchmaker.

Hongdou discovers where Zhiyuan is hiding. When she and Granny confront him, they discover that Zhiyao hasn’t been completely forthright with them.

Zhiyao returns to Yun Miao. The neighbors throw an impromptu party to celebrate, and Hongdou learns more about their pasts and what led them all there.

Hongdou worries that she hasn't yet found her purpose in life. But she soon gets a welcome distraction when Zhiyao asks her to help manage the cafe.
