Camarón Revolution

As a child in the town of San Fernando, José Monge Cruz, who will later become known as Camarón, quickly takes after his mother, a beautiful singer.

Circumstances force teenage Camarón to leave San Fernando and move to Madrid, where he immerses himself in the thriving flamenco scene.

Camarón has a fateful meeting with guitarist Paco de Lucía, and strikes up a fruitful collaboration. The world is changing, and so is flamenco.

A beautiful girl nicknamed La Chispa catches Camarón's eye and they fall madly in love. Later, he begins collaborating with guitarist Tomatito.

Camarón becomes a cultural phenomenon, hailed as the “King of the Gypsies.” But the fame and adoration is hard for such a shy, humble man to handle.

Camarón continues to pour his heart and soul into his art, but his health is rapidly deteriorating. At 40 years old, he is diagnosed with lung cancer.
