Kids on the Slope

At his new school, Kaoru meets an unlikely group of jazz enthusiasts and decides to add his own musical talent to the mix.

Kaoru works to master jazz and fit in at his new school, and his friends help out with both — until Sentaro tags along on his date with Ritsuko.

To get Sentaro to leave Ritsuko alone, Kaoru helps him win over Yurika. But all his matchmaking leads to a disastrous double date.

Kaoru jeopardizes their Christmas gig when his jealousy causes him to lash out. Sentaro opens up about his family.

Sentaro overhears Ritsuko share a secret. Later, he goes to Tokyo with Kaoru, who has an emotional dinner with his mother.

At the beginning of the new school year, Sentaro finds himself in a different class from his friends and joins a new band — without Kaoru.

Still angry with Sentaro, Kaoru sees another perspective when he begrudgingly helps the Olympus during a performance gone awry.

Yurika awkwardly pursues the recently returned Junichi. Kaoru reminds Sentaro that there are other fish in the sea — like Ritsuko.

Sentaro approaches Ritsuko to apologize. When Junichi contemplates taking a job in Tokyo, Yurika asks to tag along.

Kaoru and Ritsuko clear the air. Seiji issues a challenge to Kaoru and Sentaro, who later makes a rash decision of his own.
