An oceanographer who wants to stop the construction of a seaside resort encounters the brash young developer in charge of the project.

Despite Mio saving Rintaro's life, an awkward atmosphere develops between them. Rintaro attempts to spark a foreign CEO's interest in the resort.

Mio learns that part of the planned development site has not yet been acquired. To Aika's surprise, Eitaro begins working at the lab.

Rintaro has a change of heart and halts the plans for the hotel, but he is removed from the resort project. A curious Mio follows and observes him.

While Rintaro struggles to process Mio's startling confession, Mio tries to separate her feelings from her personal quest to protect the ocean.

After Kamoi is taken to the police station, Rintaro invites Mio to stay at his house, where the two confirm their feelings for each other.

Mio and Rintaro evade a pack of reporters and head to an amusement park. Hasuda Trust faces a crisis when its shares are suddenly bought out.

Leaving Mio in Kamoi's hands, Rintaro goes to Hasuda Trust and learns that newly appointed director Eitaro has a revised plan for the resort.

After Mio learns she will be able to return to the sea during the next full moon, she begins to realize she has little time left with Rintaro.

Rintaro struggles to deal with his grief after parting with Mio. One week later, he and the others gather to watch Mio's completed farewell video.
