Seeking to uncover the truth about the haunted earring, Shouxue takes Jiu-jiu with her to speak with the deceased consort’s former lady-in-waiting.

An elite consort visits Shouxue and asks her to summon the soul of her deceased lover so she can learn why he has not returned to her.

When a ghostly songbird appears before Shouxue, Jiu-jiu asks her to help it pass on to the great beyond and tells her about its deceased former owner.
