Grimoire of Zero

In the Liturgical Year 526, a purge of witches has begun in Wenias. A witch named Zero asks the half-human half-beast Mercenary to be her guard.

Mercenary has agreed to guard Zero as she searches for the grimoire that can destroy the world. They meet Albus, who belongs to a group of mages.

Zero and the others arrive safely at Formicum but find it less than welcoming to Beastfallen. They encounter a wolf Beastfallen leading slave girls.

After enjoying some time in the city, Zero and the others head for the village of Latette, a hideout for mages. They arrive to a shocking discovery.

The hideous sight of corpses greets Zero and the others as they enter Latette. Albus first declares that it must be the work of rogue witches.

The group has been brought to a castle in the capital. Thirteen, a court mage who is also after the Grimoire of Zero, offers a deal to Albus.

Mercenary leaves Zero and exits the capital knowing he is just a Beastfallen. He is then attacked by the wolf Beastfallen and a group of witches.

Mercenary learns that Holdem was in Sorena’s service and joins the search for her granddaughter, but then hears that a witch is to be executed.

Albus has been saved from execution by Mercenary and Holdem. He comes up with a plan to defeat Thirteen that will require Zero’s help.

Mercenary reunites with Zero at the top of the castle tower, but as soon as he speaks Albus’ name they are again transported before Thirteen.
