Anne of Green Gables

Canada in the late 19th century. Anne arrives at Bright River Station on Prince Edward Island. Matthew heads out there to welcome a boy.

Anne is full of hope as she and Matthew make their way to Green Gables. Marilla tells her they had requested a boy to help out around their farm.

Matthew tries to change Marilla’s mind, as she still insists on sending Anne back. Marilla’s opinion changes when she sees Anne is a hard worker.

On their way to Mrs. Spencer’s house, Anne keeps talking nonstop to Marilla and opens up about her lonely, loveless upbringing.

Mrs. Spencer introduces Mrs. Blewett, who is in search of a babysitter. Marilla takes Anne home when Mrs. Blewett appears to be quite coldhearted.

Marilla observes Anne the next day after giving her many chores. By the afternoon, Anne can no longer contain herself and asks what her fate will be.

Every day, Anne is living life to the fullest at Green Gables. She cannot contain her anger when Marilla’s friend Rachel insults her appearance.

Ahead of her first day at Sunday school, Marilla makes Anne some very plain dresses. Hoping to wear a pretty one, Anne cannot hide her disappointment.

Anne is both hopeful and anxious ahead of her long-awaited meeting with Diana. The two immediately hit it off and make a vow of eternal friendship.

Anne and Diana go to chat and eat treats among the birch trees. Diana marvels at Anne’s powerful imagination on a day of unforgettable fun.
