Marumo's Story

Mamoru reconnects with his old friend Junichiro at a school reunion, impressed that he’s raising his twins, Kaoru and Tomoki, alone after his divorce.

After hearing the dog talk, Mamoru visits a mental health clinic. After Kaoru and Tomoki name the dog Mook, their uncle Akihito pays them a visit.

Mamoru, Kaoru, Tomoki and Mook start living together. As they shop for school backpacks, Akebono Stationery’s Strawberry Jam Glue draws complaints.

Mamoru returns to the mental health clinic for advice. At work, a dispute over an ad slogan sends him on a business trip to Tochigi to apologize.

Mamoru comes down with a fever. At school, Tomoki is scolded for not eating his carrots, while Mamoru’s worried mother, Setsuko, comes to visit.

Kaoru invites a classmate to play catch with her and Tomoki. Meanwhile, Mamoru asks Kana to dinner to thank her for visiting him while he was sick.

When Mamoru asks about birthday presents, the twins say they’ve already asked Santa. On their way home, their biological mother approaches them.

The twins get a school assignment to research their parents’ jobs. Kana invites Mamoru to lunch, while Kaoru wants to visit Mamoru's workplace.

With his bonus coming up, an unusually cheerful Mamoru plans to buy Kaoru and Tomoki new clothes. Meanwhile, Aya’s ex-husband calls the izakaya.

Yosuke attends the twins’ sports day orientation for Mamoru, then teaches him a dance for the event. Mamoru’s boss approaches him about transferring.
