If I'd Kissed Her

Manga fan Momochi lacks ambition or interest in romance, but everything changes after a chance encounter with the author of his favorite series.

To Momochi’s consternation, the man claiming to be Tomoe follows him back home to Tokyo. Later, the two of them attend Tomoe’s funeral.

Convinced that Momochi uploaded the latest manga draft, Takamizawa seeks him out to learn more. Meanwhile, Tomoe visits a bathhouse.

Tomoe spends the night at Masao's house after being confronted by his wife. The stay provides a glimpse of the kind of life Masao led.

The sight of Takamizawa carrying Tomoe away inspires Momochi to fight for her love. Takamizawa insists to chief editor Ikuma that Tomoe is alive.

Tomoe goes after Momochi to explain the kiss with Takamizawa and share her feelings. Later, Tomoe visits the publishing office to prove her identity.

A distressed Masao runs away from Momochi after reawakening in Tomoe’s house. Momochi and Takamizawa live in fear of losing Tomoe for good.

Momochi rejoices in a long-anticipated victory and sets his sights on the future. Elsewhere, Takamizawa finds little reason to celebrate.
