At the start of his first year of high school, Raido tries to befriend the girl seated next to him, but she doesn't respond to anything he says.

Raido gets the eerie feeling that someone is watching him at school. Later, Aharen tries to alert him to an embarrassing problem with his pants.

Oshiro helps Aharen tame a bad case of bedhead, and an impending seat change threatens Raido and Aharen's newfound friendship.

Aharen and Raido's classical literature teacher is deeply moved by their interactions. Later, Raido helps Aharen practice being more expressive.

Aharen gets into a once-popular monster-collecting game, and Raido offers to play with her. Then, he suggests they study for their exams together.

When Raido and his classmates are given free rein of the school swimming pool, Aharen shows up in full diving gear. Raido tries teaching her to swim.

Aharen accidentally leaves her bento box at home, so Raido helps her cut through the boisterous crowd at the school store so she can buy lunch.
