Known as the unlucky genius batter, Hiromichi Kojima of the Saitama Lycaons meets a man during a training camp in Okinawa who may change his luck.

Kojima and Toa clash with 400 thousand dollars on the line. The first three pitches are wide, giving Kojima a moment of relief before the tide turns.

Realizing his final swing is off the mark, Kojima puts his body on the line. Later, Toa negotiates a contract with astonishing conditions.

The Lycaons start the regular season with 11 consecutive losses. In the following game, Toa takes the mound while the team is 11 runs down.

With Yoshida's help, the Lycaons succeed in turning the game around at the top of the ninth inning. Yoshida reveals a secret from his past to Toa.

Pitching against reigning champions the Mariners, Toa challenges their cleanup hitter, who notices what makes his fastballs so hard to hit.

In the second game, the Mariners stack their batting lineup with left-handed hitters in an attempt to drain Toa's stamina. Kojima steps up to bat.

Toa tries to prolong the third match to force a no game due to rain. Wise to his plan, the Mariners attempt to expedite the game with fouls.

Saikawa's actions behind the scenes force the game to continue. Arai's clutch hit at the bottom of the fourth inning turns the game around.

The Lycaons' next game is against the 3rd-place Bugaboos, whose manager, known as Shirooka the Strategist, is adept at psychological manipulation.
