Okabe has finally given up on saving Kurisu from her fate. After starting school again, he settles into the mundane pace of an ordinary life.

Leskinen holds a demonstration of the artificial intelligence program Amadeus during a seminar based on Kurisu's research.

Mayuri goes all out preparing a Christmas party for everyone at the lab. Meanwhile, Rintaro shows Amadeus Kurisu around Akihabara and the lab.

After coming back to reality regarding Kurisu, Rintaro has a strange vision of a war. Meanwhile, Suzuha explains her search for Kagari to Daru.

Daru hires Moeka Kiryu to help search for Kagari. She's a writer in the current world line but Rintaro recognizes her as Mayuri's killer from another.

Suzuha is sure that the girl with amnesia is the long-lost Kagari Shiina. Later, everyone celebrates the new year by visiting Ruka's shrine.

Masked men storm the lab and try to kidnap Kagari but help soon arrives. Rintaro realizes the men are different from the Rounders he's seen before.

After receiving a distress call from Amadeus, Rintaro realizes that he has once again wound up in the timeline where Kurisu is still alive.

Rintaro is relieved to awaken in the beta world line. But he soon learns that Mayuri's friend Katsumi oddly has memories of the alpha world line.

Maho resumes testing on a re-booted Amadeus with Rintaro, who still doesn't know that she possesses something that was very important to Kurisu.
