Flower Shop Without Rose

Single father Eiji raises his daughter Shizuku while running a small flower shop. One day, a blind woman seeks shelter from the rain outside his shop.

Mio loses her temper after overhearing an exchange between Eiji and Naoya. Eiji learns that a dear friend is moving into a retirement home.

When Shizuku’s classmate Shogo is caught shoplifting, Eiji tries to help but is visited by an angry Miss Ono, who berates him for interfering.

After hearing that Shogo has been caught shoplifting at the supermarket again, Eiji fears the situation is far more serious than he first thought.

Eiji feels uneasy when Naoya tells him that someone has proposed to Mio and offered to pay for the expensive surgery required to restore her eyesight.

Shijo becomes jealous when he learns that Naoya has been staying at Ono’s place. Hishida tells Eiji she saw Mio working at the hospital.

A lawyer visits the flower shop and informs Eiji that Shizuku’s grandfather, Dr. Anzai, is willing to take him to court to obtain custody of Shizuku.

Resigned to turning Shizuku over to Anzai, Eiji prepares to close his flower shop but suddenly receives an urgent call from Shizuku’s school.

Shun tells Eiji about the upcoming surgery, unaware of Eiji and Anzai’s troubled relationship. Later, Mio feels unsettled by Shun’s attitude.

Shun learns that Eiji has been raising a daughter. Later, he goes for drinks with Ono and tells her a shocking truth about Eiji’s childhood.
