Tokiyuki Hojo, the heir to the Kamakura shogunate, is a kind yet cowardly boy. While shirking his military training, he encounters a shady priest.

After days of hiding out with Yorishige and Shizuku, Tokiyuki slips away to search for survivors of the shogunate and learns of an awful fate.
