My Dearest

Charming Gil-chae leads a peaceful life until the eccentric Jang-hyeon — an unmarried nobleman who fraternizes with barbarians — drops into her life.

Gil-chae asks Jang-hyeon for help, and they spend an exciting day together before he heads off to Uiju. Meanwhile, the cloud of war looms over Joseon.

Qing invades Joseon. Gil-chae attempts to stop Yeon-jun from going to war while Jang-hyeon declares his intention to evacuate and flee the area.

The enemies draw near. Jang-hyeon fends off the barbarians as Gil-chae is chased by them. A man appears in front of Gil-chae in her moment of danger.

With a changed mind, Jang-hyeon heads to the fortress. Gil-chae tends to the wounded. The two cross paths again, their hearts growing steadily closer.

Jang-hyeon infiltrates the Qing army as Gil-chae flees to Ganghwa Island. When danger strikes unexpectedly, Jang-hyeon strives to protect Gil-chae.

Gil-chae returns home to find the place in shambles, and Jang-hyeon fights for his life. In the time they were apart, a small seed of doubt sprouts.

As Jang-hyeon enters Qing, Gil-chae lands on the streets without a place to call home. The aftermath of war hits more brutally than the war itself.

A desperate Gil-chae takes up blacksmithing, and Jang-hyeon gets a chance to return to Joseon. They meet one another in a place most unexpected.

Upon resolving their misunderstanding, Jang-hyeon asks Gil-chae to run away with him. But as a bride-to-be, Gil-chae must decide where her heart is.
