Masaki recalls his aimless youth and how he made friends in college. Later, he finally tells Kanade what happened during his fateful drive with Kaori.

Niizato leaves Kanade with a comment that prompts her to return to Nagano and look for Eisuke's notes about the environmental energy corruption case.
