Settlement of Frank Chavez v. Netflix, Inc. Class Action

Welcome to the website for information regarding the settlement of the class action lawsuit entitled Frank Chavez v. Netflix, Inc., filed in the San Francisco Superior Court, Case No. CGC-04-434884.

The settlement was approved by the San Francisco Superior Court on July 28, 2006, but certain objectors appealed the judgment approving the settlement. The California Court of Appeal affirmed the judgment on April 21, 2008. The settlement is now final as the period for further appeals has expired.

Class members who timely and accurately completed the Claim Form Process will be contacted via email on or before November 29, 2008 regarding the procedure for receiving their settlement benefit.

  3. When can I expect to receive my benefit?
    Under the terms of the Settlement Agreement, Netflix has until November 29, 2008 to inform class members on how to redeem their benefit. If you are a class member who timely and accurately completed the Claim Form Process, you will receive an email by November 29, 2008 with instructions on how to redeem your settlement benefit.
  4. Can I still register for the settlement benefit?
    The deadline to register was June 26, 2006. You may no longer register for the settlement benefit.
  5. What happens if I changed my address after I registered through the Claim Form Process?
    If your address or email address changed after you completed the Claim Form Process you must notify Netflix of your new address by going to www.netflix.com, clicking on "Member Sign In" and then selecting "Your Account". Simply follow the instructions to update your information.
