Toni Collette
Toni ColletteBorn in Blacktown, Australia, on Nov. 1, 1972, Toni Collette left school at age 16 to enroll at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts. After completing only 18 months of a three-year program, she was cast in her first movie, The Efficiency Expert (1992).

Fame came quickly for Collette with Muriel's Wedding (1994), followed by the indie hits Emma (1996) and Clockwatchers (1997). She found mainstream success with The Sixth Sense (1999), for which she received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nod.

Collette's string of memorable film roles continued with Shaft (2000), Changing Lanes, About a Boy and The Hours (all 2002), while her roots in independent productions remained strong with movies such as The Last Shot (2004) and the sleeper hit Little Miss Sunshine (2006). Her lead role in the cable comedy series "United States of Tara" earned Collette an Emmy Award and her first Golden Globe win.
