A decade later, Perlman earned a Golden Globe Award for his portrayal of the half-human Vincent on the television drama "Beauty and the Beast." Steady work as an off-camera actor followed, with Perlman lending his distinctive voice to animated series such as "Duckman" and "Batman the Animated Series" and to video games such as Chronomaster and Fallout.
In one of his most widely recognized movie roles, Perlman donned heavy makeup to play the title role in the comic book-inspired Hellboy and its sequel, Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
