Born in London on October 14, 1927, Roger Moore is best known as the man who replaced Sean Connery as suave secret agent James Bond. Moore studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art before coming to Hollywood under contract to MGM. He appeared in several films before switching to television roles in series such as "Ivanhoe," "The Alaskans" and "Maverick."In 1962, Moore became a superstar when he landed the leading role in the TV series "The Saint," an international smash hit. He took over the role of James Bond in 1973's Live and Let Die, and starred in another six Bond films before hanging up his martini glass after A View to a Kill in 1985.
Other notable films include The Sins of Rachel Cade, Shout at the Devil, The Wild Geese and The Cannonball Run. Moore continues to act in films and television series.
