Rob Lowe
Rob LoweFormer Brat Packer Rob Lowe was born in Charlottesville, Va., on March 17, 1964, the son of a trial attorney father and an educator mother. After the family pulled up stakes and headed to Los Angeles, Lowe began working in local television and summer stock as early as age 8.

Lowe's rise to stardom on the silver screen began in the 1980s with appearances in such films as Class (1983), St. Elmo's Fire (1985) and About Last Night ... (1986). Lowe earned a Golden Globe nomination in '87 for his portrayal of a mentally impaired youth in Square Dance; the actor's later films include the box-office smash Wayne's World (1992) and Contact (1997).

Lowe moved to the small screen in 1999, cast as the White House deputy communications director in the Emmy-winning series "The West Wing." Leaving the show in 2003, Lowe helped Arnold Schwarzenegger win his bid to become California's governor.
