A statuesque supermodel turned actress who inherited her blond hair and blue eyes from Dutch ancestors, Rebecca Romijn was born in Berkeley, Calif., on Nov. 6, 1972.After carving out a career as an international fashion model, Romijn took over for Cindy Crawford on MTV's "House of Style" and caught the eye of television producers, who cast her as David Schwimmer's girlfriend on "Friends."Small film roles followed, but it was her performance as the scaly mutant superhero Mystique in the big-screen X-Men trilogy (2000, 2003 and 2006) that brought her credibility as a serious movie actress and celebrity status among comic book fans.
Romijn next starred as the title character of the short-lived WB drama "Pepper Dennis"(2006), which lasted only 12 episodes, before joining the cast of "Ugly Betty" the following year as a power-hungry publishing maven.
