Born December 29, 1959, New Orleans native Patricia Clarkson has been a steady contributor to both television and feature films. After studying drama at Yale, she continued to live on the east coast, diligently working in theatre and honing her skills.Her film breakthrough came with a supporting role in 1987's gritty multi-Oscar winner The Untouchables. She continued to work in television, appearing in a recurring guest role on the NBC sitcom "Frasier" and, the following year, as Aunt Sarah on HBO's dark comedy "Six Feet Under."
With her distinct voice and features, Clarkson is easily recognizable in films such as Rocket Gibraltar, The Safety of Objects, Far from Heaven and 2003's comedy Pieces of April -- for which she received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role as a mother visiting her daughter in New York for the holidays.
