Neil Patrick Harris was born in Albuquerque, N.M., on June 15, 1973. At age 15, he won a Golden Globe nomination as the troubled youth David Hart in Clara's Heart, starring Whoopi Goldberg. A year later, Harris found TV stardom as a teen genius who becomes a doctor on "Doogie Howser, M.D.," for which he was again nominated for a Golden Globe.After the series was canceled, Harris divided his time between stage and film work. On Broadway, he played Tobias Ragg in concert performances of "Sweeney Todd," the Emcee in "Cabaret" and Lee Harvey Oswald in "Assassins." Meanwhile, on screen, Harris took supporting roles in Starship Troopers, Undercover Brother and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, and starred opposite Tony Shalhoub in the NBC comedy "Stark Raving Mad" in 1999.
In 2005, Harris scored a hit, and a few Emmy nods, as the womanizing Barney Stinson on the sitcom "How I Met Your Mother."
