Jovovich soon began to appear in films, including 1991's Return to the Blue Lagoon and 1993's Dazed and Confused. Taking a break to focus on music in 1994 (she released an album), she returned to the silver screen with a bang in the late 1990s with roles in He Got Game and The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (helmed by Jovovich's then-husband, Luc Besson).
Among Jovovich's later works of note are 2001's Zoolander (opposite Ben Stiller), Resident Evil (2002) and its sequel, Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004).
