Born in Santa Ana, Calif., on April 29, 1958, Michelle Pfeiffer was studying to be a court reporter in college when she decided a change of career was in order. It wasn't long before movie audiences took notice of her leading role as Stephanie in Grease 2 (1982).Pfeiffer soon proved she was more than a pretty face with a devastating portrayal of Elvira, Al Pacino's coked-up girlfriend, in Scarface (1983). Her star began to rise with a series of successful parts in Ladyhawke, The Witches of Eastwick and Dangerous Liaisons, for which she earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination.
Pfeiffer's streak continued with The Fabulous Baker Boys (which earned her the first of two Best Actress Oscar nominations), Batman Returns (playing the seductive villain Catwoman), Dangerous Minds (1995), What Lies Beneath (2000) and White Oleander (2002).
