Marsha Mason
Marsha MasonA major star of the 1970s, Marsha Mason was born April 3, 1942, in St. Louis and attended Webster College. After an inauspicious film debut in the 1966 drive-in flick Hot Rod Hullabaloo, she studied acting and ballet in New York.

Her next attempts at film roles were considerably more successful: Blume in Love (1973), followed by seemingly overnight stardom as a troubled hooker in Cinderella Liberty. For that performance, Mason earned a Best Actress Academy Award nomination; she was nominated again for The Goodbye Girl (1977), Chapter Two (1979) and Only When I Laugh (1981). She was married to the writer of all three, playwright Neil Simon, from 1973-81.

Mason's later movies included Heartbreak Ridge, Nick of Time, I Love Trouble, 2 Days in the Valley and Bride and Prejudice.
