Josh Brolin
Josh Brolin is proof that even the most stellar Hollywood pedigree is no guarantee of instant stardom. Born Feb. 12, 1968, in Los Angeles, the son of actor James Brolin rejected the entertainment business early on, but a role in a high school production of "A Streetcar Named Desire" awakened his latent acting gene.

After making his film debut as Brand Walsh in The Goonies (1985), Brolin landed a starring role in the TV Western series "The Young Riders." He worked consistently over the next two decades, appearing in films such as Flirting with Disaster, The Mod Squad and Hollow Man.

In 2007, Brolin captured the public's attention with strong performances in Grindhouse: Planet Terror, In the Valley of Elah, American Gangster and the Oscar-winning No Country for Old Men. He continued the streak in 2008, playing the title role in Oliver Stone's W. and appearing opposite Sean Penn in Milk, earning him his first Oscar nod.
