Jon Heder
No matter what other roles Jon Heder plays over the course of his career, he will be best remembered (and best loved) by a huge segment of his audience for one of his first: his portrayal of the geeky hero of 2004's Napoleon Dynamite.

Born Oct. 26, 1977, in Fort Collins, Colo., Heder was raised in Salem, Ore., in a devoutly Mormon household. While attending Brigham Young University, Heder met Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess, who cast him in his short film Peluca, which centers on a character much like Napoleon Dynamite. That film was a huge hit at the 2003 Slamdance Film Festival, prompting Hess to rework it as a full-length feature: The result was Napoleon Dynamite.

Since that auspicious debut, Heder has appeared in a number of films -- including Just Like Heaven and The Benchwarmers -- always being careful to choose roles that allow him to remain true to his Mormon values.
