Born in St. Louis on March 10, 1971, Jonathan "Jon" Daniel Hamm earned his acting degree on a scholarship at the University of Missouri and briefly taught high school at his alma mater, John Burroughs School, before moving to Hollywood.After landing small television and movie roles -- including bit parts in Kissing Jessica Stein (2001) and We Were Soldiers (2002) -- Hamm was cast as a recurring character on "The Division," followed by regular work on "The Unit" and "What About Brian."
But it was Hamm¿s portrayal of Donald Draper, a 1960s advertising exec with a past, in the critically acclaimed AMC drama "Mad Men" that would place him firmly in the spotlight, earning the actor Golden Globe and Emmy nominations.
