Jennifer ConnellyBorn in New York's Catskill Mountains on December 12, 1970, Jennifer Connelly grew up in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. She began appearing as a model in print ads at age 10 and eventually appeared in television commercials.

Her first film role was in Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in America (1984), followed by Phenomena, directed by Dario Argento. After taking time to attend Stanford University, Connelly played mostly smaller roles in films such as The Rocketeer (1991) and Of Love and Shadows (1994).

After tackling her first big-budget action film, Hulk (2003), she earned high praise for her role as the emotionally confused Kathy in House of Sand and Fog (2003).
