Known for her deadpan delivery and acerbic wit, actress and comedian Janeane Garofalo was born in Newton, N.J., on September 28, 1964. After graduating from Providence College, Garofalo became a stand-up comic, and in 1992, she landed a role on the short-lived but critically acclaimed TV sketch series "The Ben Stiller Show."A role on HBO's "The Larry Sanders Show" (for which she received two Emmy nominations) soon followed, and in 1994, Garofalo joined the cast of "Saturday Night Live." She quit the show before the end of the season, however, complaining publicly about its declining quality. Notable films include Reality Bites, The Truth About Cats & Dogs, Larger Than Life, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Clay Pigeons, Permanent Midnight, Mystery Men and Dogma.
Garofalo continues to act and perform comedy, and she began hosting "The Majority Report" on Air America Radio in 2004.
