Jacinda Barrett
Jacinda BarrettDespite her all-American looks and convincing accent, Jacinda Barrett is actually an Australian native. Born Aug. 2, 1972, in Brisbane, Barrett left home while still a teen to pursue a modeling career. Several years later, she was chosen for the London cast of the granddaddy of reality series, MTV's "Real World" (1995).

This exposure soon led to more acting jobs, and before the end of the decade Barrett had appeared on numerous TV shows, including "Guys Like Us" and "Millennium." During this period, she also made her film debut with a featured part in the indie chiller Campfire Tales (1997).

After appearing in several more independent films, Barrett received a major career boost when director Robert Benton cast her in The Human Stain (2003). The young actress has since appeared in such big-budget Hollywood films as Ladder 49, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and the 2006 remake Poseidon.
