After achieving great success on the stage -- including a London Critics Circle Theatre Award for his performance in "The Pope's Wedding" -- Oldman stunned audiences with his gritty portrayal of the doomed punk rocker Sid Vicious in 1986's biopic Sid and Nancy. Known for slipping seamlessly into a variety of characters -- often borderline psychotics -- and for his amazing ability with accents, Oldman has portrayed a diverse range of characters, including Lee Harvey Oswald, Beethoven and Dracula.
