Dianne Wiest
Award-winning film, television and stage actress Dianne Wiest was born March 28, 1948, in Kansas City, Mo., but spent a nomadic childhood with her military family. After starting out as a dancer, she quickly moved to the stage, where she won accolades for her role in "The Art of Dining."

Her film career began in the 1980s, playing largely maternal roles in films such as Footloose (1984), The Lost Boys (1987) and Parenthood (1989). But it was her work with director Woody Allen that allowed her to stretch, and she captured the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for two of his films: first, for her turn as the aimless Holly in Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) and then in 1994, for her role as John Cusack's muse in Bullets Over Broadway.

Wiest earned an Emmy for a guest spot on the Disney Channel production of "Road to Avonlea" and for her role in HBO's "In Treatment," as well as an Emmy nod for her part in The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn.
