A Yale-trained actor with extensive credits in theater, television and film, Chris Noth was born in Madison, Wis., on Nov. 13, 1954, and appeared largely in independent fare before finding mainstream success as Detective Mike Logan on the critically acclaimed crime drama "Law & Order" (1990-95).But the cosmopolitan-sipping fans of "Sex and the City" will likely link Noth with his recurring role as Carrie Bradshaw's notorious Mr. Big (1998-2004), a charismatic lothario who managed to entrance an otherwise independent urban woman.
Largely due to the exposure he received from the show, Noth began accepting more mainstream film roles, appearing in Cast Away (2000), The Glass House (2001), Mr. 3000 (2004) and The Perfect Man (2005) before announcing his return to series television and reprising his role as Detective Logan on the "Law & Order" spinoff "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."
