Gleeson earned his first Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of a sympathetic hit man in the crime comedy In Bruges (2008) opposite Colin Farrell and Ralph Fiennes. He also nabbed his first Emmy win in the role of Winston Churchill in HBO's Into the Storm.
