Blythe Danner was born in Philadelphia on Feb. 3, 1943. The 1965 Bard College graduate began her stage career in Boston, and at age 25 won a Theatre World award for her performance in "The Miser" at Lincoln Center.Danner went on to win a 1970 Best Supporting Actress Tony Award for "Butterflies Are Free" and made her TV-movie debut a year later in Dr. Cook's Garden. She made an impressive singing-and-dancing film debut in 1776 (1972) and followed it with lead roles in Lovin' Molly (1974) and Futureworld (1977).
Many know her as the mother of actress Gwyneth Paltrow (they teamed on-screen in 2004's Sylvia), Eric McCormack's TV mom on "Will & Grace" and the wife of Robert De Niro in Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers. Danner continues to work in the theater as well, receiving Tony nominations in 1980, 1988 and 2001. For her role on the TV dramedy "Huff," she won an Emmy in 2005 and 2006.
