Born to comic legends Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller in New York City on November 30, 1965, Ben Stiller seemed destined for comedy. After several years of working in New York theatre and directing short films, he launched his own sketch comedy show, "The Ben Stiller Show," in 1990.Although the show's run was brief, Stiller proved he could handle the duties of writing, directing and acting. As a result, he pulled together his first feature, the Generation X comedy Reality Bites (1994). Stiller's mainstream popularity was secured when he played lovable loser Ted in There's Something About Mary (1998).
While Stiller is best known for his comedic roles in films such as Meet the Parents, Zoolander and Starsky & Hutch, he's also proved himself a capable dramatic actor in Your Friends & Neighbors, Permanent Midnight and The Royal Tenenbaums.
