Andrew Davis
Andrew DavisAcclaimed action director Andrew Davis was born in Chicago, Ill., in 1947. He put his early experience as a cameraman to good use throughout his career, particularly when directing the dazzling action sequences found in his films.

Davis worked stints as a journalist, TV cameraman and photographer before serving on the crew of the landmark 1969 indie Medium Cool; he then hit his directorial stride in 1985 with Code of Silence, a superior cop movie starring Chuck Norris. In 1988, Davis co-wrote and directed Steven Seagal's successful debut Above the Law, and in 1989 directed Gene Hackman in The Package.

Later work includes another teaming with Seagal for the blockbuster action hit Under Siege (1992), along with The Fugitive (the popular big-screen adaptation of the 1960s TV show) starring Harrison Ford.
