Amy Adams
Amy AdamsBorn in Italy on August 20, 1975, ginger-tressed Amy Adams was raised in Castle Rock, Colo., one of seven siblings in a Mormon family. Aside from a brief stint as a waitress at Hooters, Adams moved directly into acting after high school, performing dinner theater.

She landed her first feature-film part in 1999's Drop Dead Gorgeous and after moving to Los Angeles, appeared in a string of television shows, including "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "That '70s Show." In 2002, she was cast in Serving Sara and Pumpkin, and delivered an attention-grabbing performance as Leonardo DiCaprio's naive fiancee in Catch Me If You Can.

Adams's breakthrough role came with 2005's Junebug, when her award-winning turn as a pregnant Southern belle caught the eye of audiences and critics alike. She next grabbed another Oscar nod for Doubt (2008) and continues to work on both the big and small screen.
