Ang Lee
Ang LeeBorn in Pingtung, Taiwan, on October 23, 1954, Ang Lee went on to graduate from the National Taiwan College of the Arts before traveling to the United States to earn degrees in theater direction and film production.

Known for the high quality and widely divergent styles of his films, Lee concentrated his first directing efforts on exploring Taiwanese cultural and generational conflicts, resulting in a trilogy of movies: Pushing Hands, The Wedding Banquet and Eat Drink Man Woman (which received a Best Foreign Film Oscar nomination). Other notable films include Sense and Sensibility (nominated for a Best Picture Oscar), The Ice Storm and Ride with the Devil.

In 2000, Lee co-produced and directed Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, a visually stunning martial arts epic that received international acclaim, a Best Director Golden Globe and several Academy Awards, including Best Foreign Film.
