Born November 8, 1968, in Baltimore, Md., Parker Posey has been dubbed "Queen of Indies" after acting in more than 30 independent films in her brief career. Posey made her debut in 1991 on the soap opera "As the World Turns."She first made her mark in film in Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused (1993) and appeared in several films written and directed by Hal Hartley, including Amateur (1994), Flirt (1995) and Henry Fool (1997). Her first starring role was in the well-received Party Girl (1995), which led to higher-profile projects such as The Daytrippers (1996), The House of Yes (1997) and Clockwatchers (1997).
Posey is also part of writer-director Christopher Guest's improv ensemble group that has made the comedies Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000) and A Mighty Wind (2003). In 2004, Posey took supporting roles in two big-budget films, Laws of Attraction and Blade: Trinity.
