Teenager Kyô Sogoru leads a double life: He's captain of the swim team at school and pilot of the giant robot Zegapain who battles evil forces in a faraway universe. As he tries to reconcile his two roles, Kyô begins to question his reality. From seeing a girl at the pool whom no one else can see to having the strange sensation of déjà vu, Kyô wonders whether he even exists in this action-packed fantasy anime series.
