Using color footage shot by soldiers and eyewitnesses, this unique documentary recounts the horrors of World War II as they were experienced by those who lived through it. The filmakers use action sequences in lieu of historical analysis, focusing primarily on America's involvement in the Pacific. The film is often quite graphic and sobering, with scenes ranging from bombing raids to the elation of a liberated Europe.
