Whoever Says the Truth Shall Die
(1981)|
This absorbing documentary investigates the life and the 1975 murder of outspoken Italian filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini. A poet, an iconoclast and a homosexual, Pasolini liked to explore society's taboos and those who break them. Through interviews with such figures as Bernardo Bertolucci, the film explores Pasolini's work, life and death, including whether he was killed by a teenage hustler or assassinated by a group of right-wing fascists.
