This heartwarming tale for all ages, set in the Ozarks during the Depression era, tells of a boy's yearning for two red-bone coonhounds. Billy's parents can't afford to buy him the dogs, but his grandfather promises the lad that God will meet him halfway if he believes in himself and his beloved dogs. Billy faces adventure and tragedy -- and ultimately learns about love, loyalty, family and friendship -- as he strives to realize his dream.
