An unexpected friendship blooms in war-torn Bosnia between an orphan and an aging schemer in this Sundance selection that received Best Screenplay honors. Posing as a relief worker, Sharkey (Bob Hoskins) "adopts" 9-year-old Vlado Petric (Sergiusz Zymelka), with plans for selling him as a commodity on the underground child-trade market. But somewhere in the process, they end up forging a priceless relationship.
